Privacy policy
How Local Weather Network handles website visits and its owner-authorized YouTube publishing connections.
Who operates this service
Local Weather Network is operated by Michael Hussey. Contact mhussey@gmail.com with privacy questions or requests.
Website visitors
This website provides information and links to our regional YouTube channels. It does not ask visitors to sign in with Google, authorize access to their YouTube accounts, or provide passwords. We have not added advertising trackers or analytics scripts to these pages. Fonts are served by Google Fonts, which may receive technical request information such as your IP address and browser details. Our hosting provider may process technical information such as IP addresses, browser details and request logs to deliver and secure the website.
Authorized YouTube publishing
The Local Weather Network publishing application connects only to Google accounts and YouTube channels whose owners authorize it. The requested YouTube permission allows the application to read and manage an authorized channel's videos, playlists and related channel information. We use that access to identify the correct channel, upload weather broadcasts, manage their metadata and playlists, and verify processing and publication status.
We store OAuth access and refresh tokens, channel identifiers, video identifiers, publication metadata and operational records needed to maintain these authorized connections. Credentials are kept in access-restricted storage and are not included in public website content.
Use and sharing of Google data
We use Google data to operate the authorized weather publishing service. We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or use it to train generalized artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models. Data is processed by Google and by infrastructure providers supporting this service only as needed for its operation. Local Weather Network's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Retention and removal
We retain connection credentials while an authorized connection is in use and retain publication records needed for operation and troubleshooting. You can revoke the application's access through your Google Account connections. You can also email us to request disconnection or removal of stored connection data. Revoking access does not delete videos already published to YouTube; channel owners can manage those videos in YouTube Studio.
Messages and external services
If you email us, we receive the information you choose to include and use it to respond. Links to YouTube, Google and the National Weather Service open services governed by their own privacy policies. This website does not embed YouTube players.
Updates
We may update this policy as the service changes. The date above identifies the current version.
